Subject: Request for opt-out/deletion

To the Privacy Team at Vector (vector.co):

I am a resident of California. I am submitting this request myself, not through an agent. I ask Vector to:

1. Delete all personal information you hold about me, including identity-graph and visitor-identification records, hashed identifiers, and any records obtained from or shared with partners, and to direct your service providers and contractors to do the same;
2. Stop selling or sharing my personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising and visitor identification, and record a permanent opt-out;
3. Confirm in writing what categories of personal information you held about me, the sources, and the third parties you disclosed it to.

I make this request under:
- the right to delete under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105
- the right to opt out of sale and sharing under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.120
- the right to know under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.110
- the Tex. Bus. & Com. Code ch. 541 (Texas Data Privacy and Security Act), to the extent you process data about Texas residents

The identifiers you may use to locate my records are:
Name: [Your full name]
Email: [the email address you want removed]
Phone: [your phone number, optional]
Mailing address: [street address], [city], CA [ZIP]
State of residence: California

Please use this information only to verify and fulfil this request. Please confirm receipt within 10 business days and completion within 45 days, and reply to this email with the tracking address req-[tracking-id] kept in copy so the confirmation is logged. If you deny any part of this request, state the specific legal basis.

Thank you,
[Your full name]

Questions people ask

Why did a store email me after I visited without signing up?
The store runs Vector's pixel. When you load a page, the pixel matches your browser to an identity graph built from past sign-ups, data-broker lists and cookies, and hands the store your name and email. The store then emails you as if you had opted in.
Is it legal to make Vector delete my data?
Yes. California residents have the right to delete (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105) and to opt out of sale or sharing (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.120); Texas residents have equivalent rights under Tex. Bus. & Com. Code ch. 541 (Texas Data Privacy and Security Act); most other states with privacy laws grant the same. Many brokers honor requests from any US state as a matter of policy.
How long does Vector take?
Opt-out page: honored and confirmed within 24 hours.
Will they come back?
Often. Identity graphs are rebuilt from new data, so a deleted record can reappear months later. Re-filing every 90 days, and detecting when the pixel fires again, is what keeps you out.

The free Pixel Shield extension lights up the moment Vector or any of 16 other identity pixels fires on a page you visit. Shield ($39/yr) prepares this request for every broker, tracks the replies on a private alias, and re-files every 90 days.
